*Discussion*

The Federated Wireless NetAuth (FWNA) subgroup will hold a BoF at the Joint Techs meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah. The subgroup will solicit interest in their efforts from the EDUCAUSE Wireless LAN Security list.

The Spring I2 Member Meeting will be in Arlington, VA from May 2 – 4. NetAuth will submit a proposal to host a BoF session the day before the Member Meeting track sessions begin.

There is also an RSA security conference in San Francisco, CA that will be held during the same time frame as the Joint Techs.

NetAuth group members are encouraged to submit applicable case studies to the EDUCAUSE Effective Practices group.

There are vendors providing partial or full solutions to issues of interest to NetAuth. The group discussed interacting with these vendors and incorporating vendor solutions already implemented in the higher-ed community in the Strategies document. Vendor conferences could be a venue to advertise NetAuth, thus informing vendors of the WG’s initiatives and soliciting vendors’ academic customers to participate in NetAuth efforts (similar to esNET’s collaborative efforts with RADIUS server providers). The group discussed sending out a call for contributions related to the current draft of the Strategies document.

The group also discussed developing trust communities to ensure conformance to standard configurations. Perhaps this topic can be included as a topic in the Futures document.

The next call is Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 12:00 PM ET. A new permanent call in number will be sent out with the agenda prior to the call.
