*Discussion*
- Joint Techs
3 focus areas: hybrid networking, campus networks, security. Security will include VoIP, DNS/DNSSEC, CALEA, and hybrid networks.

There is a project underway, evaluating .edu DNS, which will be covered in a session and will result in a report. This will also likely become a REN-ISAC service offering down the road.

On CALEA, there will be a presentation about plans at U. Texas, and experiences in technical implementation of compliance measures. Merit will also report on their technical implementation and compliance experiences.

There is a CALEA session at Net@EDU, and if there are implementation recommendations emerging from that they will likely be conveyed at Joint Techs.

It was observed that there continues to be a great deal of confusion in the higher-ed community about CALEA, some campuses think they are covered and some don't...

Kevin proposed a session under the broad category of hybrid networking, on using lambdas without bypass. Are logical networks the right approach?

- NetGuru
There will be a day and a half meeting of around 25 people, Wed afternoon and all day Thu following Joint Techs. Agenda build is under way

- NSF CyberSecurity summit
The program is not yet online, but the format will be similar to past events with breakout sessions in the middle, culminating in a closing plenary.

Chris, Doug, Mark, Jim, Rodney, and Ken plan to attend.

- WG update: CSI2
A draft RENOIR doc has now been published, available on the CSI2 site. Comments are welcomed. http://security.internet2.edu/csi2/#Docs

- WG update: FWNA
Steven Carmody's document on RADIUS/SAML integration is still being discussed, it should move to final status in the next couple of months. The process has been very instructive, and more will be reported on this as it develops.

- Disaster planning and recovery WG will be spinning up under Salsa
The focus will be not so heavy on the middleware aspects, as on what is possible in this area with our advanced networking environment. There will be a BoF at Joint Techs.

We will be coordinating with Rodney about the Educause business continuity constituent group. Once the chair is confirmed he will work with Rodney on this.

A charter will be the first deliverable, clarifying scope. More to come on this as it develops.

- There was discussion about potential new members of Salsa. A list of potential names was circulated to the list, if you have comments please direct them to Ken and Mark.

Next call will be 25-January
