*Discussion*
{Rich} reported that Penn has connected
to the top-level server; he will provide configs for FreeRADIUS
to Mike, will then make an entry in the wiki.
The Group expressed a need to create a document outlining consensus items regarding the 802.1x session at the Spring Internet2 Member Meeting. The wiki may serve as a good venue for this document, working towards a comprehensive and consistent form, and eventually a PDF deliverable. Putting together such a document will benefit from and require community feedback, so that there are reality-based examples. [AI] {Kevin} will post the 802.1x wrap-up from the Internet2 MM on the wiki. [AI] {John} and {Chris} will work on a basic architecture page for a document on next steps w/802.1x. [AI] {Kevin} will develop starter questions for use cases, then drop into wiki. [AI] {Rich} will work on a use case for Penn State.
The Group discussed whether in-depth 802.1x (and federation) discussions should remain in the FWNA Working Group or whether it would fit better elsewhere, perhaps even a separate conference call.
Another venue to get feedback is the upcoming IETF meeting in Montreal on July 9th. [AI] {John} will approach the NEA Group with a proposal for a presentation on 802.1x at the next IETF meeting.
As Phase II of the experiment approaches, what are the next work efforts that the Working Group should undertake? Aside from the experiment, the Group discussed the inclusion of an advanced system policy. {John} summarized his suggestion to follow two tracks: 1) continue the experiment/infrastructure, and 2) implementation of policy (cf. email 3-May).
The next SALSA-NetAuth FWNA WG conference call will be on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 11am ET.
