Carry-over *Action Items*
[AI] {Group} should contact {Dave Futey} with proposed questions for the ResNet survey relating to wireless security at dfutey@stanford.edu by mid-January. (15-Dec-05)
[AI] {Kevin} will send out a list of issues stemming from initial experiments, and requests feedback from {Group} to gather other ideas. (15-Dec-05)
[AI] {Andy and Philippe} will email {SteveO} with a list of those from Eduroam, etc. whom {SteveO} will then invite to a discussion of the configuration of the top-level servers in late December or early January. (5-Dec-05)
[AI] {Kevin and Philippe} will document the decisions made during the campus connection process, including test accounts. (5-Dec-05)
[AI] {Kevin} will connect the Duke people with the <SALSA-FWNA-Ops> to move forward with how to set up the server. (5-Dec-05)
[AI] {Group} will think of local site requirements for security, logging, and access to utilization of information in the context of Eduroam, where non-local users are involved. (3-Nov-05)
[AI] {Philippe} will draft a use case focusing on shared facilities between two institutions. (24-Mar-05)
*Discussion* Merit has received the server sent by {Philippe}, and is currently working to get it set up. {Philippe and Mike} have designed a webpage located at: <http://fwna.ns.utk.edu/> for the Group to enter a *fake* registration; any input should be sent to mcoffey@utk.edu, and will be used for shaping the site and subsequent documentation. {Philippe} raised the issue of how to assist people as they connect to the top level servers. The set-up process can be built one step at a time via the wiki. [AI] {Andy, Philippe, and Mike} will exchange design recommendations, prepare questions, and schedule a call with {David and Klaas} from Eduroam.
[AI] Andy & Kevin will work collectively on presentation for the ESCC/Internet2 Joint Techs by the next call.
The Group discussed participation in the approaching Spring 2006 Internet2 Member Meeting <http://events.internet2.edu/2006/spring-mm/>. A discussion dedicated to 802.1x would be useful, as well as a presentation on Eduroam.us. {Renee} suggested that this would be a good opportunity to report back to the community about the experiment, and also to gain feedback for identifying next steps. [AI] Philippe will put together an abstract for the Spring I2 Member Meeting. [AI] Chris will submit proposals for BoF around 802.1x and working group meeting for the NetAuth and FWNA WGs. The group briefly discussed the intersection of RADIUS with campus systems, in terms of directories, controlling access to networks, what people are doing, and preparing and contrasting various approaches. A few initial connectors can identify elements towards creating categorizations. Another issue raised was whether policy would come from the campus end, or if the campus would need to respect Eduroam policy as well.
The next SALSA-NetAuth – FWNA conference call will be on Thursday, January 26, 2005 at 11am ET.
