*Discussion*
[AI] {SteveO} will arrange for a call with {Ken Klingenstein, Renee
Frost, Andy, Philippe, and Kevin} regarding the organizational
structure of the FWNA experiment.
A question was asked regarding how membership and funding affected the
service. [AI] Philippe will summarize and email {SteveO} with ideas
regarding the management of the service.
[AI] {Kevin} will send an email to {Renee} reporting consensus on scope
of work.
The order has been sent for the top-level servers, and [AI] {Philippe}
will send mail the <SALSA-FWNA-Ops> mailing list when the
delivery date for the servers is known. Radius will be installed as the
software of choice, and should arrive soon. {Michael Coffy} is the
graduate student assisting {Philippe} at U. Tennessee. A conversation
with the Eduroam folks may provide insight for configuring the servers.
[AI] {Andy and Philippe} will email {SteveO} with a list of those from
Eduroam, etc. whom {SteveO} will then invite to a discussion of the
configuration of the top-level servers in late December or early
January.
Once the top-level servers are set up and ready for service,
participants are needed. {Kevin} said that Duke will be active at that
point. Who are the others that should be contacted? {Kevin} suggested
soliciting participation from those folks who have already showed
interest at some point in the past, rather than targeting all the
schools currently implementing 802.1x. {Rich and Mark} expressed
interest on behalf of Penn State, but there are a few office issues to
be worked through first.
{Philippe} suggested that each site have a way to have test accounts,
such as to act as a visitor. This work will contribute useful
documentation towards site implementation work. [AI] {Kevin and
Philippe} will document the decisions made during the campus connection
process, including test accounts. [AI] {Kevin} will connect the Duke
people with the <SALSA-FWNA-Ops> to move forward with how to set
up the server.
The call was cut short due to a temporary network outage affecting the
phone bridge; unfinished conversation will continue on the
<SALSA-FWNA> mailing list. The next SALSA-NetAuth – FWNA call
will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 11am ET.
