SALSA Security Briefing: Automating Network Policy Enforcement
Securing networks is an increasingly difficult task, particularly with deluge
events such as the return of students at the start of each academic year.
Identifying processes and tools to aid in the protection of networks is
critical to the stability of networks and the utility of the networks to the
user community. In this briefing, a panel will discuss the recent draft proposal
"Strategies for Automating Network Policy Enforcement." The editors, Eric Gauthier,
of Boston University, and Phil Rodrigues, of New York University, will participate,
along with several of the key contributors to this document.
Gauthier, as moderator, will guide the briefing allowing each panel member a
brief position statement to highlighting topics they feel require additional
emphasis. The briefing is designed to minimize introductions and maximize the
amount of time for listeners to ask questions and participate in strengthening
the elements outlined in the proposal.
The briefing will be held at 1pm (EDT), Thursday, 23 September 2004, and is
scheduled for one hour (60 minutes) as a conference call. Please note that
participation is limited to 30 phone lines. We apologise in advance for
individuals who are not able to obtain a dial in slot.
